AI Has No “Human Touch” - And That’s the Point

There is a growing discussion that artificial intelligence can be detected because its texts or images lack the human touch. I believe this criticism misses the real nature of the technology. AI should not be judged by the standards of human craftsmanship. Humans traditionally create things individually - a lawyer writes a brief, a journalist writes an article, a craftsman builds something by hand. AI belongs to a different paradigm: mass production of intellectual work. Imagine a handmade carriage where someone installs the first factory-made part. At first it may look strange and imperfect. Critics might say the carriage has lost its character. But the process will not stop there. Soon more parts will be manufactured, and eventually the whole carriage will be made automatically. AI represents the same transition - from handmade intellectual labor to industrial-scale knowledge production. The real tsunami effect will come when AI systems begin communicating with other AI systems - generating texts, code, and decisions for each other. At that point, whether AI has the “human touch” will no longer matter.
